After 7 years...... an event of the Association of Accounting Technicians of Sri Lanka (AATSL)https://lnkd.in/gMnmx8UwIn 2024 July 15th I received an email from AATSL stating that they had updated the curriculum for AATSL members and now annually minimum of 10 CPDs should be collected to maintain membership since gaining it in 2017.Hence I participated in two events since then organized by AATSL.One event was motivational training which was conducted through ZOOM. It was held on 12th September 2024. After that, I decided to participate in the AATSL Business Conference 2024 held from 01st October 2024 and 02nd October 2024.It is 12 years since I became a passed finalist and 7 years since I became a member.Many of my friends who did AATSL examinations with me are now CASL members and have gone to high places in their careers.Usually, people go to these conferences to network and build professional links in the industry and also they go with some friends. I am going to check it out just for educational purposes.The cost of registration to the event was Rs. 18,000 which is a significant investment. This may be a one-time thing for me. I felt it when I made the card payment.The images of the event sent by AATSL show the relevant areas discussed and the caliber of the participants which was unparalleled. (They are the best in the contemporary business world.)But for me, the content mostly felt like a motivational and human resource-based technical session rather than about accounting, finance, and taxation.Not like in 2010 there are a lot of AATSL members and this event is not a big deal.However, I needed some motivation and career guidance.#Businessstudentbs #October2024 #AATSL

Sampath Quiz 2024 was held at Monarch Imperial on 08th September 2024. Team NSC was 35th among over 150 teams. In 2023 we were the 5th. Overall, there was a decline in position, but the event allowed participants to gather knowledge and learn team-building skills.#Teamsampath #teamnsc #Sampathquiz24

These 15 images contain memories of my 33 year old life. After a turbulent time after leaving school, during a house clean up I got rid of most of them filled with regret. But people who know me during my childhood will recognize these. Just to share among my LinkedIn friends to have a memory refresh. This is meant to be nostalgic and not professional.

Royal College Colombo - 100th Anniversary Magazine - A journey to my school days as a Royalist through memorabilia I was a proud royalist and it gave me great opportunities to build myself as a social citizen during my school years (1997 - 2010)https://lnkd.in/ggAtNwieFrom a mundane and a calm childhood my adulthood was a bit confusing and harsh dystopian like [Brave New World (1932) and 1984 (1949)]My professional life since 2015 was filled with failure. I was shifting jobs and parallely lived a life of a blogger which was not lucrative at all.My current job at Sampath Bank PLC is one of the most minor functions but with hard work of the bank and is actually life cycle management of documents stored at the bank of a certain category.This job function and my love of book buying since 2017 has a link somehow and it lead me to go to my school days through this shared memorabilia.Many of my batch mates and friends I did higher studies are migrated or gone abroad due to the current circumstances.I avoided the biggest events of my school since a child.The last time I went to a big match was 2015.My Facebook page D Box contains my blogposts. It was a creative act of mine to show that mind and body is two things.D box contains blog posts both from sinhalese and english language. There is a significant impact to this from my school life as well as my personal value systems.Being a past royalist and if you study and follow the school's past you'll learn histories and cultural aspects related to colonial, post colonial and post modern aspects of the country as well.After leaving the school in 2010 I was an underachiever and I was depressed most of the time.Many of the value systems I respect have come from my school and mainly my love of the school's main building architecture. It's like in the film, Inception (2010).I don't have the bragging rights of being a royalist since I'm not a colors man or a prize winner ever in my life. I was able to have minor extra curricular activity achievements which are shared in the below photographs.But since present is a product of the past and future is a product of the present I must atleast pay my gratitude to the School this way.Hence I purchased the 100th Anniversary Special Edition Coffee table book of the Royal College Magazine.The social reality I'm living in today is part of my school days.I was a very low profile past student but is a very active in 'Facebook' and other social media platforms.When I look at myself now I've never seen any idiotic book loving guys (Other than literature students and booktubers) who try to reflect it into the society like me. And specially among past royalist students.I think this will be my last book purchase since the economy is very hurtful.#royalcollegecolombo #booker #DBOX #august2024

After that I ordered all the Rama Brothers study guides from the Sarasavi online bookstore. 'D Box' Facebook page was a personal blog I initiated in 2017 to reduce stress and express my feeling through photography, book reviews, articles, film reviews and much more. It only had about 100 followers and wasn't a success. But it was stress releasing so I continued to post it for 7 years.In 2024 I decided to link this to 'Meta' universe by expanding into 'Instagram' and 'Threads'.I tried to link my FB page directly to the Instagram account but keeps linking my personal account.
